No more waiting ... It's time to release the brown water hounds on Athens. These bye week blues have got us all ... in the last week we have seen Vandy take over the East, ESPN hype up the Big 12 QB trio of McCoy, Harrell and Bradford and watched the 2x defending AAAA Georgia state high school champion (Northside-Warner Robins) finally lose a game, after 35 straight wins. Dawg Nation has had enough ... it's time to put a butt whuppin on Tennessee.

C W. Martinez has taken a verbal lashing the last week ... and to tell you the truth, I'm on the fence about him , too. He just can't seem to mold the 4/5 star recruits we are getting into a cohesive unit. The Alabama game (31-0 beatdown at half) has happened before ... please see the Tennessee losses of 2006 and 2007, our defensive just hasn't shown up. Another Tennessee loss would keep me on the fence about CWM, maybe make me jump over ... but a Tennessee win would be a band-aid for the gash Bama left in our record 2 weeks ago.

The Real Reason Danny Ware was Arrested

Here is what the Police say...

At about 2:25 a.m. after the game, police said that Ware and a 24-year-old woman "stood in the street talking and traffic had to steer around." It was this odd behavior that prompted police to investigate. Ware admitted he was drinking and submitted to a breath test where he logged a substantial BAC of .152. Police did not reveal if Ware let out a "Woof, woof, woof!" before the mugshot was snapped, but based on the amount of booze in his system, it's entirely possible.

The real reason.....

It had nothing to do with standing in the street and everything to do with those dumb ass tattoos on his face. What the hell, if I was a cop I would have arrested his ass too.

P.S. Sorry about the light posting lately we will try to get back on track. BTW We here at the Boot refuse to talk about the game on Saturday. We want to "Blackout" those memories.

Five Reasons Knowshown Will Win the Heisman

Well, as I was driving to work today, sitting in traffic in Memphis, I was thinking about all Knowshown has given us Georgia fans, The Leap, The celebration, and of course, the soldier boy. So I came up with the 5 reasons he will win the Heisman.

5. Tebow will not put up the stats he did last year and everyone will figure out he can not win the big game.

4. Georgia is on National TV almost every week. Unlike other big names in the contest ... Daniels and Sanchez, who play in shitty conferences or play late games that not everyone will watch, they wont get seen as much. The whole west coast / east coast bias thing...

3. He does not need a lot of carries to put up big numbers. Moreno has only carried the ball something like 25 times this season and he already has 225 yards and 6 Touchdowns.

2. Georgia will be good. Now this is just my opinion and I could be wrong, but to me your team has to be good just to be in the running.

5 Things I Hate About College Football

Now I want to say this I love college football, but after jumping in with both feet this weekend I came to this conclusion....there are some things I hate.

5. Preseason Top 25 - heading into the first game we already have a top 25. Tennessee and Clemson went into this past weekend thinking there teams might be pretty good only to have there hopes crushed. And Georgia winning (blowout) and still dropping a spot after USC beat a crappy ACC team.

4. Ticket Prices - $5,000+ donations come on. We should be able to pay for the tickets first come first serve.

3. Pay Per View - Anyone who paid 30.00 bucks to watch a second class CSS game might have felt the same.

2. No Booze in the Stadium - I am 26 years old and should be able to do whatever the hell I want. There is nothing worse than drinking whiskey all day and having to quit for 3-4 hours. You get tired and a bad ass headache. Don't say I shouldn't drink, because that is just stupid.

Gentlemen,

The football season of 80' will be my seventeenth as a Georgia
Bulldog. During this time there have been many thrilling Saturdays of competition, each with its individual memories, because each game has its own personality. There are two Saturday traditions and experiences which have remained basically the same throughout the years for me and I would like to share them with you.

The first one concerns the RAILROAD TRACK CROWD. These are my people because they love the Dogs almost as much as I do. Oh, I know they do some crazy things- like turn over our opponent's buses sometimes and now and then they throw one another down the bank and into the street below. But they stamp out Kudzu and they pull for us to win and that ain't bad. If you can get off the bus to cheers of THE RAILROAD TRACK CROWD and walk down those steps to the dressing room and not be inspired to play football as best you possibly can, something important is missing beneath the Georgia jersey you wear. It is impossible not to be inspired. They choke me up! The season of 1980 will be the last for THE RAILROAD TRACK CROWD. A great Georgia tradition will have passed with the new addition to our stadium. The view from the tracks will be no more. Your team will be the last Georgia Team to be greeted and cheered by the RAILROAD TRACK CROWD. Wouldn't it be fitting if their last team was also the best Georgia Team ever. Think about it! Another Saturday tradition which has meant so much to me over the years can be stated very simply. "THERE AIN'T NOTHING LIKE BEING A BULLDOG ON SATURDAY NIGHT-----AFTER WINNING A FOOTBALL GAME." I mean like whipping Tennessee's ass to start with, then ten more and then another one.
This is the game plan. We have no alternate plan.

10 Commandments of College Football

We hear at the Boot can take no credit for these, but that being said we kind of agree.

Extremely important recommendations for wives, girlfriends, fiances, mothers, sisters and daughters.

1. From the first weekend in September until the end of the bowl season, the television is mine, at all times, without any exceptions. The remote control will be fingerprinted each night, any sign of your fingerprints and all shopping trips will be cancelled for a month.

2. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, for an important reason such as preparing snacks or getting the beers, I don't mind, as long as you crawl along the floor.

3. During the football season, read the sports section of the newspaper so that you understand who I’m yelling at during the season.

As a tip, check the box scores for the referees names too.

4. During the games I will be drunk as Cooter Brown. You cannot expect me to listen to you, open the door, kill any spiders, answer the phone, etc. It ain 't gonna happen.

5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on, and please do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV between 12am and 6am, unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day.

6. Please, please, please!! if you see me upset because my team is losing, DO NOT say I'll get over it, it ' s only a game, or don't worry, they'll win next time. If you say these things, you will only make me angrier and I will love you less. Remember, you will never ever know more about football than me and your so called ' words of encouragement ' will only lead to a break up or divorce.

7. If a great play occurs while you are in the room, you may be required to freeze or repeat your act for the rest of the game as good mojo. If my team wins, you will be showered with gifts for the next 6 days. If they lose, you will be blamed repeatedly for moving, blinking or secretly not believing in your heart of the power of mojo.

8. Tell your friends NOT to get married, have any babies, or any other social related parties or gatherings that requires my attendance because:I will not go, I will not go, and I will not go.

However, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Saturday to watch a game, we will be there before the Coors Light bottles reach ' Code Blue ' .

9. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the halftime score is pleasing me. College Gameday and the highlights on Saturday night are just as important as the games themselves. Even if I curse Lou, Herbie, and Corso like the anti-SEC, biased dogs that they are, I still want to hear what they say.

10. And finally, please save your expressions such as: ' Thank God the football season is only during the Fall. ' I am immune to these words, because after this comes the NFL playoffs, the Pro Bowl, AFL, AFL2, the CFL, and the replays on the college sports channels.

Offensive lineman Trinton Sturdivant had to be carted of the field yesterday. CMR said that they would not know the extent of the injury until today. Lets all cross are fingers and hope Trinton is OK. Go Dawgs.

Sophomore left tackle Trinton Sturdivant will miss the rest of the year after tearing his ACL, MCL and PCl during Monday's scrimmage at Sanford Stadium, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Tuesday morning to UGASports.

The sophomore started all 13 games at left tackle left season and earned freshman All-America and freshman All-SEC honors.

It seems that on Friday, the first day of practice, the other defensive backs were not satisfied with his practice so a number of them gave him, in Finebaum's words, a beat down. He has not returned to practice.

What the hell is going on in Auburn, where was this guy? Tommy sits on his high horse like nothing is wrong. Good job guys stay Classy. I thought Saban was the bad one in Alabama I guess we will se soon.

Paul Johnson sure hates tradition.

1st you get a new coach, then you get a new offense, now you get these stylish new uniforms. Well in my opinion all three are garbage. What the hell, was it that bad at Tech that you had to go out and change your whole image. These uniforms look like they are straight out of NFL Europe, and that didn't do to well. The nerds at Tech need to understand that now matter how much you change, Tech will still have the same outcome, The Dawgs dominate.

The State of the Dawgs

Well since this is one of our first posts, I figured I would let you in on the state of the Dawgs...

The hype - Well what can you say, except the media has set some lofty goals this season for our Dawgs. If we can live up to these goals it will be a great season for Dawgs everywhere. Lets just hope there is no #1 preseason jinx.

The schedule - It is the toughest in the country hands down. We play our toughest games on the road (The gayturds, Auburn, and what may be our biggest challange, traveling cross country to play Arizona State) minus one game against Fat Phil and those damn Vols. If we can get through this we all know we will be at South Beach in January.

The team - After a great end to the 2007 season, we have a ton of talent back. Including Two Heisman Trophy canidates in Stafford and Moreno. Our Defense should be great if Crazy Willie can keep them in check. Our offense has some questions in some important spots. O-line is young, but they were young last year. Another question is WR, MoMass is back and from what I hear has become a great leader. We have two much hyped freshman in AJ and TK. But all and all we shoud be great.

The Coach - No question he will soon lead us to the promise land.

There are some hopes in Athens, and for the sake of my sanity, we should have a great year!!!

Aj Green aka The Future

Well our first practice went well, no arrests, and the future looked bright in athens. Stafford has lost 10 pounds and was throwing frozen ropes to our new 1 reciver Aj Green. Lets hope the 1 team in the country can keep it up.
